Project Battleforce: Serpent Terror
The Wave Serpent is finished! My Dire Avengers have a party bus at last. This marks the halfway point of the battleforce project with only the Guardians and War Walker to go. But lets take a look at this tank first.

Project Battleforce: Making Waves
Quick update post: I have made a start on the Wave Serpent, the next model in the battleforce that I have chosen to paint. In light of the new design aesthetic in 7th Edition 40k, I have decided to add more of the bone colour to the Wave Serpent compared to my previous attempts.

Project Battleforce: Avengers Assemble!
The Dire Avengers are complete. Thus bringing to a close the first stage of Project Battleforce. I'm quite pleased with how they have turned out, and am also quite glad to have started and finished painting a unit of models for once.

Project Battleforce
I'm taking a break from the Wood Elves. I don't think it was too much to take on, but I lost that initial energy to paint and need to attack something else whilst I recharge. Plus I'm a bit low on cash. So behind me was two Eldar Battleforces that I purchased back in August and haven't touched, so I have decided to paint one to completion.

The Lighter Side of the Dark Milennium
Many people are drawn to Warhammer for it's deep and rich back story, the endless tales of war between the Space Marines and whichever poor schmuck is in their way this week. But that's not for me, I really care little for whether the Emperor will ever return to life, or the ramifications of the Heresey, I also have very little time for Eldar stories. I do however prefer the more leftfield fluff that is perhaps more lighthearted in it's approach.

Arms Race: The second month
I am continuing to add to my fledgling Wood Elf army, as I set out last month, I get to add up to £50 worth of reinforcements in an attempt to get a 2000 point army on the table somewhere by the end of the summer.

Unbound: Harder Than It Looks
I was asked a simple question today: "Have you thought about doing an unbound army at all?". In truth, I hadn't. I had dismissed it off hand as I, like many others, had decided against it as it was too open to abuse. But that question sparked off an internal debate, along with seeing what GW had bundled as examples on the website, what would I take from my shelf to run as an unbound army?

The Barn Find Project
Yesterday, I traded a small fortune in Lord of the Rings miniatures for a Stormraven wreck. As for value, it was probably the worst trade in existence, but the fact is, I was never going to use those miniatures and they would probably have been thrown away at some point.

Rise of the Warlock
Eldar Warlocks saw themselves drop a bit in utility, from my end at least, they were a 35 point Conceal caster that led my Guardians on the field. With the abundance of 'Ignores Cover' rules however, that usefulness dropped and they could no longer be relied upon to increase the survivability of my troops and eventually saw themselves left off the list.
With the dawn of 7th Edition however, and from what I have been reading in this weeks White Dwarf, I am seriously considering the Warlock in my forces again.

My painting journey so far
It recently occurred to me that I have passed my first year of blogging without actually doing anything to mark the occasion. I was sitting around looking at everything I have painted, and decided that perhaps I should do a showcase of some of my single figures throughout the years to show the progress that I have made, and hopefully, inspire someone.

Blood Angel Captain
I didn't really have a lot on on Saturday, so I sat down and took a break from the Wood Elves to paint up the first of the Web Exclusive Space Marine Captains. Because I have something of a Blood Angels army, he was painted in the colours of the chapter, and gave me a chance to use brighter colours than normal.

Arms Race: Wood Elves
My project for this summer, which I am dubbing the Arms Race, is for me to collect and paint 2000 points worth of Wood Elves. I've never really gotten to grips with Fantasy Battle, but upon seeing the new Treeman, I felt that it was time to put the Dark Elves to one side and start with a clean slate.

It's been a while hasn't it?
I'm fully aware that I have neglected this blog for near 2 months now. It only seems yesterday that I was looking at it thinking 'Wow, I've not put anything up for a month!'. Sadly, that was all down to a mix of a high amount of work, and hitting a point of low motivation to painting where I really couldn't focus on one project for any amount of time. However, I have finished a few of my older projects and am going to show them today.

On the Table
A quick work in progress entry today. This is a unit that I wanted to do for Tale of Many Gamers but never got round to it, so in a moment of inspiration I decided that I should bite the bullet and just get on with it. The other Eldar tanks I have were built prior to painting, but this time, I decided to build in many sections to give me a lot of quick wins and keep me motivated as vehicles are my least favorite unit to paint.
So what have you got on the table at the moment? Anything interesting? Maybe a unit you have wanted to paint for a while, or something that is going to give you the opportunity to try new techniques?

Raven Guard
The last entry I wrote was perhaps a little too much for the blog, so let's bring it back down to why I started it in the first place and showcase some miniatures.

Rise of the Robots
This is going to be a post on my thoughts about the new Imperial Knight, only, it's going to be a little different compared to the other gushing reviews, because I don't like the damn thing and wish it would die in a fire.
So know you know the general gist of it, read on if you want the view of the only guy in the hobby who isn't losing his mind over yet more Imperium plastic.

Fear the Reaper
A while back, I lamented on how my Dark Reapers had remained on the shelf after the release of the Sixth Edition Codex, however, I looked at them again, and decided that I would sacrifice the Wraithknight and take my squad of Reapers for the last couple of games that I played.

The State of My Game Address
I was going to write about the day of gaming that myself and the Master of Sanctity had at Warhammer World on Monday. But the battles were pretty one sided (he may argue that :P). I was going to moan about Space Marines. But they say whenever you point a finger, there are three pointing back at yourself. Then the backlash from LVO happened, and I want to talk about my Eldar.

Prelude to War
Farseer Kaerys sat entranced in the Dome of Crystal Seers, her consciousness dancing along the skein. The runes had lead her to the forgotten world of Vigos. Once an Eldar world, it was lost many thousands of years ago in a bloody battle that claimed many souls. Why was Kaerys drawn here now? What is it that deserved the attention of the Farseer? She steeled herself and danced further along the threads of fate.

Warhammer: Visions. A Review
The new beginning is here. I found somewhere that was selling this magazine early so I grabbed it. Out of the two new publications, this was the one I was more interested in. A magazine dedicated to the hobbyist and collector? Yes please! So lets take a look. By the way, last months White Dwarf isn't in the photo just for size comparison, read on...

Cancelling the Apocalypse
Tomorrow, I am taking part in a big game of Bots Vs Bugs that is loosely based on last summers blockbuster 'Pacific Rim'. So here is a quick update to show you what Monstrous Creatures and Walkers I will be taking.

Wraithknight Showcase
This is the Wraithknight I have built for the next Tale of Many Gamers checkin. There was a set criteria for this fortnight, a 'Centerpiece model/Conversion', and what could be more centerpiece for the Eldar than a Wraithknight.

Showcase: Tale 2014
I did promise to keep updating the blog as I took part in Tale of Many Gamers this year, but it has been a hectic time. After finishing the first check in, I then missed the following two by way of being in Japan. I then got back and had to get 6 units painted in around 2 weeks. Then had to follow that up with further miniatures.

For the Swarm!
I think, like most people, I have a soft spot for the Tyranids. Maybe it's because they are so far removed from the standard look of the other races, maybe it's because Lictors sound so awesome (in the fluff), or maybe it's just because you can field a ton of models. Whatever the reason, there is a lot of negativity for the new book, and although I fell into that path of despair, I am trying to look at the book from the Path of Enlightenment.

Tale of Many Gamers: Howl of the Banshees
It's been a while since I showcased some of my work, but the next check in for Tale is tomorrow, and I have just finished off the unit that I will be adding to my army. A massive no-prize if you can guess what they are.

Setting Targets
Now that 2013 is done, I better get looking to the upcoming year and what I want to get out of it. There are basically three things that are at the forefront of my mind that I hope I will be able to achieve by the close of 2014.
